DreamCode OS Terms and Licence

1. Introduction

These Terms and Licence govern your use of DreamCode OS.

“DreamCode OS” means the operating-system software and associated components distributed by DreamCode Interactive under that name.

2. Licence, not sale

DreamCode OS is licensed, not sold.

Subject to these Terms, DreamCode grants you a limited, non-exclusive licence to use DreamCode OS for its intended purpose.

No ownership of DreamCode's proprietary software is transferred to you.

3. Permitted use

You may use DreamCode OS:

• on supported hardware;
• for personal use;
• for development or testing where expressly permitted;
• to access compatible DreamCode services;
• for other purposes expressly authorised by DreamCode.

4. Restrictions

Unless applicable law expressly permits otherwise, you may not:

• sell DreamCode OS as your own software;
• redistribute proprietary copies;
• remove copyright notices;
• remove licence notices;
• circumvent technical restrictions;
• use DreamCode proprietary components to create an unauthorised competing service;
• access restricted infrastructure;
• use DreamCode OS to conduct unlawful activity.

5. Modification

Certain parts of DreamCode OS may be modifiable.

The ability to technically modify software does not automatically grant permission to redistribute proprietary components.

Open-source components remain subject to their applicable open-source licences.

6. Open-source software

DreamCode OS may contain third-party and open-source software.

Those components may be governed by licences including permissive, copyleft or other open-source licences.

Where an applicable third-party licence grants you rights that are inconsistent with a restriction in this licence, the applicable third-party licence governs for that component.

7. Updates

DreamCode may provide:

• security updates;
• bug fixes;
• compatibility updates;
• feature updates;
• driver updates;
• system updates.

Updates may be necessary for continued access to certain services.

8. Automatic updates

Where technically implemented, DreamCode OS may automatically download or install updates.

You may be informed of major updates where appropriate.

9. Hardware compatibility

DreamCode OS may only support specific hardware configurations.

We do not guarantee compatibility with every computer, device or peripheral.

10. Third-party drivers and software

DreamCode OS may rely on third-party:

• drivers;
• firmware;
• libraries;
• applications;
• hardware interfaces.

Those components may have their own licences and terms.

11. Security

DreamCode may release security updates when vulnerabilities are identified.

Users are responsible for installing supported updates where required for security.

12. No guarantee of uninterrupted operation

DreamCode OS may contain bugs or compatibility problems.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, DreamCode does not guarantee that the software will be:

• completely error-free;
• uninterrupted;
• compatible with every device;
• compatible with every application.

Mandatory statutory rights remain unaffected.

13. Intellectual property

DreamCode and its licensors retain all intellectual-property rights in proprietary DreamCode OS components.

This licence does not transfer those rights.

14. Termination

This licence may terminate if you materially violate these Terms.

Upon termination, you must stop using proprietary DreamCode OS components to the extent required by applicable law and licence terms.

15. Changes

DreamCode may update these Terms when the software changes.
